Got food?

I got an e-mail from our R.S. (and it's been on the radio) that our local food bank is out of food. Basically the e-mail said that yesterday they ran out of food and had to cut back on quantities. They will be open today without anything on their shelves:

Then, there is tomorrow. They are faced with the possibility, that for the first time since they opened their doors, they may have to tell people they just don’t have anything to give them.

These are hard times and many people are out of work, but if everyone could just share a little of what they have, it could make a big difference in helping a friend or neighbor get through these difficult times.

We talked to the girls this morning and asked them what we should do. Cassideen said, "We could give them all of our food, or some of it." So we went through our pantry to give them some of our canned/boxed foods. Mike remembered that our 72 hour kits needed updating. So we went to the garage and unloaded our 72 hour bag.

I'm sure most food banks are running low just as ours is. So take some time and unload your pantry, find some food for the banks, and make it a family project!
